Fes to Marakech Desert Tour, May 2013

"We thought our tour was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed having Khalid as a guide. Both Chris and I thought that he was extremely professional and pleasant, and we appreciated that he was so willing to share information about life and society in Morocco. We felt very fortunate to have such a knowledgeable guide, and his English was great. By the time we said goodbye, we felt we had made a friend.

Speaking of the amount of driving we did, you did mention that it would be more leisurely if we did the trip over four days, and in the future, I'll heed that advice. This time around, we simply didn't have the time as we had a week off each, but if I know of anyone that is traveling to Morocco I will certainly recommend not only your company but that they do this tour with an extra day. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, but there wasn't much downtime!

The desert was a real highlight. We had a great camel guide, Kabash (a.k.a. Bakhar) and he was friendly and funny. The food in the camp was some of the best food we had in Morocco, and it was an unforgettable experience. I'm not really a "camping" type person, but if I was ever going to do it, I'm glad I did it then.

I loved the hotel in Skoura. If I ever did this trip again I'd want two nights there. The hotel was beautiful, the food was wonderful, and it was a very special place. We also loved the rose valley, the gorge, and the visit to the kasbah.

In closing I must remark on how easy and reassuring it was to do business with you. As you know I booked this entire trip less than a week before we left and it was really fantastic that I felt very confident in having an itinerary arranged for us. We didn't have a lot of time to do research before we went, so it was fantastic to have such a well-put-together tour. I got in touch with several companies at the same time that I messaged you, and I chose Authentic Morocco not only because you were so prompt and thorough in responding but also because you have this great payment system. It inspired a great deal of confidence, which is nice when you're going to a new country and are flying a bit blind, and it was so nice to have one part of our trip squared away. We normally don't do tours and are very go-it-on-your-own types, but something like this would have been hopeless without you and Khalid, and it was an unforgettable experience. I also chose you because I rely heavily on tripadvisor reviews when arranging travel and your reviews were unfailingly stellar.

In all, thanks so much and thanks to Khalid. You have an excellent team and operation, and I will recommend you without hesitation both on tripadvisor and to anyone I know planning a trip to Morocco."

Marrakech 4day Desert Tour, May 2013

"We had a great time in Morocco and enjoyed our tour. Omar, our driver, was excellent - professional, friendly, and responsive to our needs. He drove well and shared lots of information with us. I would be happy to travel with him again.

All the places we stayed at were well chosen and of a good standard. I enjoyed the camel trek; I think 2 hours was just right though! We all noticed that the camels seemed well-cared for.

This was an enjoyable first visit to Morocco. Thank you for your help in arranging a great trip."

Morocco Tour from Casablanca, May 2013

"We did enjoy our time in Morocco. First time on the continent so everything was new to us. Lahsen and Ali were both very nice and helpful. The schedule was comfortable and allowed us plenty of time to explore on our own, which we like to do.

Some highlights - the guide who spent about 5 1/2 hours with us in Fez. He was fantastic. We were having a lot of typical tourist superficial conversations with people we met, and knew that things like politics and religion were usually best left alone. But after the guide and ourselves got comfortable with each other we were able to delve deeper into some interesting topics which was very enjoyable. We see now that a guide on the first day in one of the big cities is well worth it. We met many Moroccans and were quite impressed with their very friendly nature. That is, aside from a merchant being nice to try to sell us something, we met many Moroccans who seemed genuinely interested to say hello. We saw very little of the guarded nature often found in westerners.

The Riads in Essaouira, Marrakech and Fez were excellent. The one in Ouzoud was good too, though there were some minor problems - no hot water, some confusion about our reservation. Really minor things - we had a great time there.

Lahsen and Ali both taught us how to survive in the medinas. We learned to say "No, shukran" and must have done so 1,000 times during our stay. Enjoyed our time with each of them.

Your suggestion to get 2,000 Dirham at a time from an ATM during our trip worked very well. We did not spend a whole lot of money in Morocco - we bought some jewelry, clothing, spices, Argan products and some musical instruments - but did not purchase anything expensive.

We will highly recommend Authentic Morocco to any of our friends interested in seeing Morocco, and will hopefully be in touch with you again ourselves about a trip to the Sahara with our son.
