"We really enjoyed our Marrakesh to Fez tour. It was definitely the highlight of our whole trip in Morocco! We were so happy to see the beautiful nature of Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert away from big cities. Our car was very nice and comfortable and our guide (Youssef) was kind and fun. We heard other tourists who drove by themselves and had so much trouble finding their ways, but we didn't have to worry about any of that. Specially when we had a very limited time, having a guided tour was the right choice. We'd like to email some photos to our guide Youssef when they are ready. "Just writing to say thanks for all your efforts in arranging your tour. Have to say the outstanding bits for me were your suggestions - so respect to you for all your knowledge. The piste from Tinerhrir to N’kob was simply beautiful - great views round every corner; each more stupendous than the last, it seemed. Scary, but Ali’s driving gave us complete confidence. I would love to do that route again with a couple of stops. I note there was an auberge close to the pass. What a pleasure it would be to stop there and do some walking. That’s for next time, inchallah! Tamtattouche was lovely. And I’ve seldom experienced a welcome like the one at the Auberge. I also appreciated one or two of the jokes - though Julie and Heather were less sure. Perhaps it’s a girl-boy thing. For example women rarely find Laurel and Hardy funny. Anyway, in my opinion Abdul (I think it was Abdul) may well be a misunderstood comedic genius. Ali was brilliant, I have to say. Clearly he’s an expert driver (don’t think I would want to drive Tinerhrir to N’kob, personally - I’d want to leave it to somebody like him). He’s also very calm, which gives you the feeling that nothing can go wrong - and generally a friendly, helpful person. He couldn’t do enough for us in fact - for instance, making an un-scheduled detour to Telouet, arranging an overnight camel trek at no extra cost to us and whipping up a scrumptious dessert of pomegranate, banana and yoghurt. He seemed to know people all over the place (which is a boon in itself of course) and it was obvious they all liked him. Top bloke and great at his job. We shall be recommending you to anybody we know that’s going to Morocco."

"Ruth and I had a fantastic time in Morocco; a fascinating country with stunning scenery and such friendly people. We thoroughly enjoyed our first few days in Marrakech before departing for the tour, which more than lived up to our expectations. Ali, our guide, was attentive, cheerful and helpful at all times and the twins were an added source of entertainment for the holiday. We can’t really think of any negatives. The route covered so many of the highlights we’d intended to see that the overwhelming memory is one of relaxation and enjoyment whilst still feeling that we’d ventured into the heart of the country and off the beaten track – even if only slightly. Neither of us is usually inclined to join a ‘tour’ but the size of group and the itinerary was just right, a happy medium between individual travel and being part of one of the less appealing coach processions we occasionally encountered. Thank you once again for organising things at short notice; everything went very smoothly, which just added to our enjoyment of the whole experience."

"Well we had an absolutely fantastic holiday. The Riad was perfect, a little far from the centre we thought at first, but then appreciated the fact that it was in a more everyday part of town and was actually far more atmospheric. Imlil was great. Hamad took great care of us and welcomed us warmly into his family. His English was rather limited that this was not a problem. I was sick for 36 hours (a legacy of lunch at the Jacaranda) and had to miss the first day trekking but I was very well looked after by the family. Also, the weather was colder than expected, unseasonably cold I believe. As a result, we used Hamad's home as a base and did daily treks. It was a bit more limiting than what we had intended but under the circumstances, it was the realistic thing to do. The treks were wonderful, especially on the last full day when we headed west up to a mountain pass. The views of the snow caps were stupendous and as we approached the pass, cloud rapidly came down. We were on the snow line, wreathed in mist and frost, surrounded by goats and, of course, a goatherd. He was a neighbour of Hamad and we huddled under his tree as he made us tea. Magical. La Rosarie was excellent, especially the horse riding (a great deal), and we were going to attempt more of the same the next day, but it rained all day, so we left early for Marrakesh. We certainly intend to return to Morocco and I was inspired to go further. Look forward to hearing from you and thanks again."

We loved the opportunity to experience Morocco away from all of the major tourist centers, like Marrakech (although we loved Marrakech too). It was great to see how the people live each day. Our driver (Youssef) was just the best. He was helpful, willing to stop when we wanted, he was friendly, caring and open. "My friend and I had a wonderful time in Morocco and we are very glad we booked our driving trip through you. The itinerary was great - such stunning scenery and interesting stops. The hotels were all very comfortable with very welcoming staffs - we loved getting to talk with the guys who worked at each of them. And our drivers, Ali for the first day and then Adil, were terrific - friendly, informative, funny, excellent behind the wheel, and infinitely patient with our rusty French and many questions. Adil, whom we were with for longer, is really a great guy and a terrific guide. All the lunch stops were very well chosen; we particularly liked the little restaurant adjoining the Amerhidil Kasbah in Skoura. My only suggestion would be that we could have used a little more information at the beginning of each day about the planned itinerary and where we might be stopping for lunch - just so we knew how to budget our time better (when to dawdle and when to hurry up!). It might also be good to warn travelers about the limited hours for electricity at the hotel on the dunes - the staff told us late in the day and my friend was concerned about having time to charge her camera. (We also should have brought a flashlight!) The tour was great value and we saw much more than we would have if we had driven the route on our own, which we had considered. We appreciate the time you've put into making it a great experience and I will definitely recommend Authentic Morocco to friends. Thanks!"
