Dear Guest,
Extracts from a Moroccan Diary ”I have been completely absorbed by this extraordinary place and the whole experience and I am not the only one - my fellow travellers and I could not decide what day or date it was, we just knew that we wanted to see more.” Many thanks to Gill Reynolds for keeping a diary during the Morocco photo tour and for providing me with images to match her words. Read “Extracts from a Moroccan Diary” Desert Tours If you are planning a holiday in Morocco I recommend a desert tour from Marrakesh, Fes or elsewhere on request e.g. Casablanca, Tangier, Ouarzazate etc. Travel at your leisure, in a private Toyota Land Cruiser with local driver, to visit the many highlights along the route including the Atlas mountains, oasis valley gorges, rose valley, valley of one thousand kasbahs, Draa valley, Kasbah Ait Benhaddou etc. Desert tours include either the Erg Chebbi dunes or the remote desert wilderness of the Erg Chigaga dunes for anyone wanting a more authentic desert experience. In the desert there is the option of a camel trek at sunset to sleep in a nomad tent or a night in a hotel at the dune line. For more information: Tea in the Sahara Desert Tours Morocco Tours with Spaces Authentic Morocco run tailor-made tours in a private 4x4 with local Moroccan driver so that you travel at your own pace, stopping as you wish, to discover the sites along the route. However, because some clients prefer to book and share a tour, we now advertise for fellow-travellers to join a booked trip if requested to do so. The benefit, apart from meeting new people, is a reduction in the price as the costs are shared. Although I have attended traditional Moroccan weddings in the past this is the first time I have attended a 2-day ceremony from the arrival of the brides at the grooms’ home Joining in with the local Berber women when they dressed the brides was a lot of fun although, given the temperature was around 50 degrees, the two girls must have been incredibly hot under the elaborate headdresses that covered their faces and the weight of the silver fibules and amber beads. It was however a fantastic experience and one that I will treasure for years to come.
Kind Regards,
Authentic Morocco
