Camel Treks - Overnight
To ride a camel you need comfortable baggy clothes. It can be warm and sunny during the day but, autumn through to late spring, temperatures drop at sundown when you need warm clothes e.g. layers, fleece and a wind-proof jacket.
REMEMBER your rubbish - carry out what you carry in.
Camels carry your luggage - soft bags are essential and two small bags is better than one large one.

Tips for Overnight Camel Treks in Morocco
- leave your luggage in the vehicle with your driver (Erg Chebbi and Zagora)
- take essentials in a small bag that the camel carries e.g. change of clothes, toothbrush, wet wipes, loo roll and rubbish bag or matches to burn waste paper and carry out for disposal what you carry in e.g. paper waste (or burn it) as anything buried will be exposed by the wind (Erg Chebbi)
- baggy trousers are essential for riding a camel
- a fleece jacket or similar and layers for nights in the desert (Autumn to early Summer)
- summer nights are usually hot and it is unlikely that you will want a jacket however you are advised to pack something light
- a torch is a useful addition to your packing
- a small towel to shower after the camel trek (travel towels are excellent)
- take valuables with you e.g. money, cards and passport
- zip-lock plastic bag or similar for cameras
- always carry water i.e. 3ltr minimum per person
- using the pool, before and/or after your camel trek, is payable locally to the hotel (Erg Chebbi)
Due to weather conditions beyond our control (desert sand storms) camel treks may not be possible and under these circumstances you spend the night in a hotel at the dune line.
